Centreville Blue Light ‘UFO’ identified as an LED-lit glider plane

by on Nov. 15, 2010, under UFO News, UFOs

Ten days ago, Brain Fains spotted a blue light in the sky in Centreville, VA.  As a result, Fains found himself in the spotlight of the media. He received inquiries from all over the world.

At the same time, the Internet rumor-mill started cranking out theories. One included the possibility that the blue light was part of a viral marketing campaign created by the makers of Skyline, in an attempt to promote the alien invasion movie.

It wasn’t.

Fox 5 received an email from Tony Claridge, who stated that he had information about the UFO. He identified the UFO as a remote-controlled glider plane adorned with LED lights. Fox 5 accompanied Claridge to a field where his glider was flown and videotaped.

Fox 5 took the liberty to contact Fains to view the video from his laptop. He was asked if it was the same thing he saw. Fains responded: “Right there it looks the same. It’s the same color that I saw.”

Fains shouldn’t feel bad for being fooled. According to Claridge, this is not the first time his glider has been reported as a UFO. Watch the video at Fox5.

I am a UFO researcher and I told all of my colleagues that the Centreville “Blue Light UFO”….was a remote controlled hobby craft of some sort. To the trained investigator of such aerial anomalies, this event is very easy to identify. But, don’t
expect the general public to believe our conclusions…..all the time. I did not come forward with the answer to this mystery (now firmly solved). because of the ridicule and contempt expressed by, hard core believers. They would only see us as pure debunkers, from that moment on. However, now there has emerged a paradox of sorts. Most people who see a mysterious blue light, will remember the Centreville event, and  instantly think it is an RC glider/helicopter, and not even give it a second thought. When the witness turns away, for this reason…and the blue light splits into six lights, zipping a thousand feet in the air in a split second. Well, we have just lost a credible sighting, for our research ventures. Diligence and common sense should be our tools, while every strange sighting is weighed in upon. But, we have now created a new venue for RC craft enthusiasts. Trying to fool the people into believing their toys are UFOs. Chinese lanterns can explain many UFO sightings. So, when you see an object that is definitely 100 feet in diameter, and it looks exactly like a Chinese lantern. But, suddenly moves across the sky at hundreds of miles an hour. What do you tell the people then?

Yes, I didn’t write about it prior to this, because I also thought it was a hobby craft. However, even with official explanations, there are many who don’t believe them. They prefer that the objects remain unidentified. There are LED kites, LED planes, and many people flying them with the intention of creating UFO hoaxes. I do commend this gentleman coming forward with his hobby craft. This sighting and the Knotts Berry Farm (reflection) sighting were first broken by Fox News for page views, I think, I’m leery of reports that the mainstream media breaks for viewership/readership.

Sorry, my bad, Knotts Berry was NBC-LA. I still can’t believe they ran that photo…

More phony-Balogna cointelpro agents claiming they sparked a fraud UFO event.
If this is true, then how was the same object spotted OVER BOSTON just a few days ago? Guess he owns a condo there, and decided to break another FAA law and not face jail time-as most of these fake-me-out agents usually never face criminal charges.  Notice the Ballon-Boys daddy did….but no one else has.

    The cover-up continues.

Cherlyn, I agree with the Knotts Beery Farm UFO image. When I saw the picture making the rounds on the internet. I was sick with frustration. I took about 45 seconds to prove the image was an exact reflection of the streetlight, in the foreground…on the lens of the camera. Then, I sent my findings to all of my colleagues. Who emphatically agreed with me. But, a kindergarten student could have come up with the same conclusions…and “They” were still trying to pass it off as a genuine UFO! You are also right about die hard believers, in the Centreville Blue light, as per the comment left by Bmac. Nothing against this reader at all…and I will continue to verify real UFO cases, for such people. But, I am a True believer in UFOs and the possibility of Extraterrestrial Encounters. I just want to make my point clear…one more time! Common sense and rational/scientific research is the only way to prove that some UFO events, are not being perpetrated by humans “regular people”, who love to fly, sail or float their hobby crafts in the night sky, or broad daylight. Most of these people are simply enjoying the fruits of their hobby . But, now we have created purposeful hoaxers…and we need to root them all out, for the cowards they are.
