Fraser and the reply below nailed it. The calber of leadership in Tucson has been declining for two decades. So has curb appeal. Look at the medians on the East side. We cannot keep U of A graduates in town. But then how can you raise a family in a $10 an hour town, when you have to make $17 an hour to rent a decent apartment? So how many Pima students remain in town after they are trained?

How Dan Eckstrom, the poster boy for vacant ethics, has avoided an Orange jump suit, is a pure miracle, or an indication of how deep the corrution runs. I am so happy my adult children have moved out of the most tightly controlled municipality in the west. A one time spiritually and enviromentally evolved City, has become an economic thrd class citizen with a rapidly diminishing middle class. In 2006 Eloy/Casa Grande created more jobs. Tidbit..in 1959 TUSD was the number one school district in the nation. What happened?
As for Pima, it too was once highly respected, with folks like Larry Toledo. What happend? When the Disablity resource center refused to give testing for my wife and tried to send us to a third party that charges $5000, I knew they were lost in space.
Do you have any idea how many consultant jobs Danny boy bags? He was paid a $50,000 consultant fee by a downtown property owner while sitting on the Rio Nuevo Board! And nothing happens! The moniker for Tucson, should be "The City of Total Impunity." Or the "Town To Tough To Cry."

"Dr. Miles recently wrote employees emphasizing that an atmosphere of
respect needs to be nurtured at the College based on the concept of do
unto others as you would have them do unto you – I am not sure how well
that is working….."

Well, I'm not sure, either. During my four years there, there were good people, and there were bad people. The good people followed the golden rule anyway without having to be told to do so by the chancellor. The bad people...as long as PCC has their no-fire, no-demote policy, what's their motivation to change?

Considering if people who did wrong know they did wrong...of course they do. They just don't care. They may have a lame justification ready to give to others if required to do so, but they don't believe their own bullplop. The bad people at PCC are just going to do whatever they're going to do because, again, zero accountability at PCC. I've seen it over and over again at all levels, from lowly worker-bees on up to a campus president who never had any business whatsoever in that position.

Until PCC starts removing people from positions they're obviously unqualified and/or unsuited for, and until PCC starts holding people accountable for wrongdoing beyond a "write-up", nothing will ever, ever change there. It's why I left, and I'm sure others left for the same reason, also.

Further comment here. Check out todays Az Daily Star article by Josh Broesky. (sp). It just confirms what I wrote earlier. Eckstrom "consultant" fees amounting to $50,000 a year. What a fuc***g dump. We deserve what we get. Who do we blame? The voters? The liberal Democrats? The Democrats who pander to the Hispanic vote?
Eckstrom is paid by Pima College for not doing a lot. Whether its Rio Nuevo or this mess we deserve what we get.

Any problems at Pima College relate to the fact that we live in Tucson. Pima College, City of Tucson/Rio Nuevo, Rep. Grivalja, no difference. The valley if full of corruption and people who just can't do their job.
Interesting that you show a picture of a Penn State football coach. i.e. Don't do the right thing to protect the kids because it will damage the "football" program.
Well, that won't happen at the Pima College football program. lol Mr. Flores didnt care about the football program. They had a program a while ago. They don't now. Just typical of the Pima admin.

The culture of oppression, denial and suppression must end. The sources responsible must be purged beginning at the top; Board of Governors, Chancellor and her cronies and work its way down to all the characters living off the misery of others are gone.
Pray that students, faculty and staff are spared any further harassment and that the mission to educate and make people grow returns as the reason for PCC's existence.
