Pima County, Ariz. – Work is set on two Pima County road projects for July 5, Tuesday. One of them will last for more than a week.

On the Northwest Side of Tucson, final striping of La Cholla Boulevard will take place from 9 p.m. July 5 to 6 a.m. July 6. The work could be delayed because of weather or equipment problems.  A contractor working with Pima County’s Department of Transportation will stripe the road from Ruthrauff Road south to River Road.  Sheriff’s deputies will control traffic at major intersections.

And on the East Side of Tucson,  final paving work will begin July 5 on Tanque Verde Road from Catalina Highway to Houghton Road.  That work is expected to be completed by July 11. During the paving,  some driveways will be closed for 20 to 30 minutes to allow the pavement to cure.

All businesses along Tanque Verde will remain open during their normal business hours and will be accessible during the paving work. The speed limit in both construction zones will be reduced to 25 MPH and will be enforced.
