Pima County, Arizona – Because of a spam attack on the Pima County government email system on Wednesday, constituents are cautioned that they may receive an email that purports to be from pima.gov, may offer a prize, and may request personal information.  Please delete those emails immediately.  Do not provide any of the information requested.

The situation has been repaired within Pima County’s email system, but as a result of the spam attack, some large Internet companies, such as AOL and Yahoo, detected an unusually large volume of email generated by the County’s email domain, pima.gov, and began blocking those emails.

The County IT department has contacted Yahoo and AOL and asked that their processing of county email be restored to its normal status. The unblocking procedure may take a day or more depending on the policies of the individual Internet service providers.
