Miller replaced Supervisor Ann Day, who retired after serving three terms on the board. Miller joins Pima County Supervisor Ray Carroll in the Republican caucus.
By unanimous vote, the supervisors extended the chairmanship of Supervisors Chairman Ramón Valadez until the first meeting of January 2014. Supervisor Sharon Bronson will serve as Vice Chairman and Supervisor Richard Elías was named Acting Chairman. Board members serve four year terms.
The board also extended the contract of Pima County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry for another four years.
