PACC needs 804 pet lovers to reach June 30 goal; $12 dogs and free cats for the rest of the month to save 12,000 petsby Pima County News on Jun. 06, 2013, under Pima Animal Care Center, Pima County, Southern Arizona, Tucson
When the goal was set in mid-April, more than 10,050 animals had found new loving homes, were reclaimed by their owners or rescued by partners in the community. May was a big month, with 973 pets no longer homeless.
That brings the total for this fiscal year so far to 11,196.
As we continue working to meet our goal, Pima Animal Care Center is offering great deals for the rest of June for folks looking to adopt a furry new family member.
All of our dogs are $12 for the rest of the month, which includes vaccinations, spay or neuter surgery, and a microchip.
It’s an even better deal for cats. Kittens are $12, but cats over the age of four months are free for the rest of the month! And that still includes vaccinations, spay or neuter surgery, and a microchip.
“There is a huge demand for pets in this community and we continue to believe there is capacity in Tucson to find homes for these animals,” said Kim Janes, manager of Pima Animal Care Center. “It’s just a matter of getting the word out that people don’t need to shop for a new pet when we have a huge selection of pets to choose from. Whether you’re looking for a pet that will motivate you to exercise, or you just want a companion when you’re home, we have dozens of animals here that would like the chance to win your heart.”
Come see whether your match is waiting for you. Our adoption center, 4000 N Silverbell Road, is open from noon until 7 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on weekends.
