Pima County, Ariz. (Aug. 11, 2011) – Pima County’s Department of Transportation, the Regional Transportation Authority and contractor KE&G Construction, will perform the final paving with rubberized asphalt on the county’s La Cañada: Ina Road to Calle Concordia road improvement project.
Crews will start Monday, Aug. 15, paving with rubberized asphalt along all the turn bays throughout the project. Work will begin at 5:15 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. daily, through Friday, Aug. 19. Also on Monday, the east side of Calle Concordia will be closed from 4.am. to 6 a.m. for paving.
Some intersections will be closed during nighttime paving work on Thursday, Aug. 18 and Friday, Aug. 19. Crews will pave the intersections of La Cañada at Hardy/Overton and La Cañada/Magee beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday and ending by 7 a.m. Friday.
First, the intersection of La Cañada/Magee will closed beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday while crews pave the intersection. Motorists will be detoured to alternate routes. The intersection will re-open to traffic Friday morning at 1 a.m.
And on Friday morning, at 1 a.m., the intersection of La Cañada/Overton-Hardy will be closed while crews pave this intersection. It will re-open to traffic by 7 a.m. Friday.
Then, during the week of Aug. 22 through Aug. 26, crews will perform the final paving with rubberized asphalt along La Cañada from Ina Road to Calle Concordia.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction during the paving. Traffic will be delayed along the paving route and motorists should plan for extra time to get to their destination.
