“We’re excited about our first foray into Mexican professional soccer because we understand the passion for Mexican futbol in Southern Arizona is massive and this is very important to us,” said FC Tucson co-managing member Greg Foster.
Club Deportivo Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz, also known as Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz, is a Mexican professional soccer club that is in second place in Ascenso MX, Mexico’s second division. The club’s nickname in English is “Red Sharks” and the club has won a total of three league titles and one Mexican Cup title.
The friendly comes the day before the final matches in the Desert Diamond Cup in Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium. The Desert Diamond Cup starts this week.
