Benson Butterfield Overland Stage Days wine-tasting tent to feature Arizona wines

The Benson/San Pedro Valley Chamber of Commerce presents Butterfield Overland Stage Days this weekend, October 9 and 10, commemorating the 152nd anniversary of the running of the Butterfield Overland Stagecoach. This year’s event promises to be even better than ever.

Check out the wine-tasting tent, opening at 10am on Saturday in Lions Park featuring: Jerome Winery, Bitter Creek Winery, Charron Winery, Sonoita Vineyards Winery, and Kokopelli Winery. But don’t drink too much too early; you’ll want to stick around for the arrival of the riders who are reinacting the Pony Express, by carrying the mail from Benson to Dragoon; expected between 4:00 and 4:30pm at the Dragoon Post Office. A parade, music, dancing, rodeo, and car show round out the weekend’s activities.

Thanks to Susan Craig of Charron Vineyards for letting me know that the Butterfield Overland Days is this weekend’s ‘don’t-miss’ event.
