Can’t find that delicious wine? Snap a picture of the wine label and Snooth Wine Pro will find it. Snooth.com has launched the first wine iPhone application with image recognition technology to helps you find that elusive bottle of wine.
This tool is useful if you’ve ever taste a wine and wondered where you can buy it, or if you want to keep a record of your favorite finds. Snooth’s new iPhone application, utilizes innovative image recognition technology, allowing you to take a picture of a wine label and automatically match it to Snooth’s database of over a million wines. Once a match is made, you can:
- View the stores closest to you that have the wine in stock
- Compare prices and view maps and directions to nearby stores
- Add the wine to your wish list or Virtual Cellar
- Purchase the wine online through the Snooth retail network
- Read expert and user reviews and post your own
- Browse for similar wines by winery, region, or varietal

Arizona Wine Week begins October 30
If you’ve ever wanted to try all of the Arizona wineries’ offers in one place, the first Arizona Wine Week will be facilitated by the Arizona Wine Growers Association beginning Saturday, October 30, 2010. The celebration will culminate in the Festival at the Farm, the association’s signature event on November 6, 2010.
The Farm at South Mountain in Phoenix venue will offer wine lovers an opportunity to sample the best from across the state. More than 20 Arizona wineries are expected to attend, representing growing regions from northern Arizona’s Verde Valley, southern Arizona’s Sonoita/Elgin, and the southeastern Arizona’s Willcox region.
A picnic lunch from Santa Barbara Catering is included in the ticket price ($65/person), and there will be an assortment of food choices from other local businesses as well. Music, love auctions, and seminars round out the faire.
In Celebration of the Arizona Growers Reception will be held on Friday, November 5 at the Quiessence Restaurant at the Farm of South Mountain ($65/person). Guests can mingle with winemakers from across the state and sample wines from the 2010 competition.
Bottle Shots 2010

Bottle Shots is an annual charity event that coincides with harvest in the wine country and supports the Active 20-30 Club of Healdsburg. This year, Bottle Shots will be hosted by Trentadue Winery, where guests will participate in harvest-related activities, sample from over 25 local producers of wine, food, and beer, and enjoy live music into the night.
