Miles For Hope Supporters Find Ways to Raise Awareness and Funds For Brain Tumor Research

CLEARWATER, FL (November 30, 2011) – Miles For Hope supporter Suzanne Searle will be running the Tucson Marathon to raise awareness and funding for cutting-edge brain tumor research. Suzanne will represent Miles For Hope in the Tucson Marathon in Tucson, AZ on December 11th, 2011. Suzanne is running in support of her sister, Jen Searle, a wife and working mother of three young boys. Jen was diagnosed with oligodendroglioma, a primary tumor, in 2007. She had surgery with a partial resection, then found out the tumor continued to grow. She is now on chemotherapy. Jen’s strength and the desire to help her sister inspired Suzanne to get involved and to date, she has managed to rally nearly 50 supporters and raise more than $4,100 to help fund cutting-edge research in Moving Towards a Cure® for brain tumors.

Miles For Hope, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds for brain tumor research, uses the help of its supporters to host fundraising events throughout the country.

“We are grateful for what our supporters do to help us in Moving Towards a Cure® for brain tumors,” said Bob Gibbs, Founder of Miles For Hope and a seven-year brain cancer survivor. “Their efforts will advance our mission in finding safe and effective treatments that are available to all brain cancer patients.” Gibbs said he would like to make individual fundraising events (IFEs) a stronger part of the organization’s fundraising strategy as a way to increase awareness and funding for brain tumors.

Miles for Hope, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funding for cutting-edge brain tumor research and clinical trials, and providing medically needy flight assistance to brain tumor and brain cancer patients.
