by on Feb. 01, 2012, under Press Releases

Sure to become a signature event in Southern Arizona, Four Corners Festival will introduce all ages to the diversity of arts that exist in an emerging cultural section of Tucson – Feb. 11 & 12

Jan. 28, 2012 — Egyptian belly dances, street theatre, steel drum performances and live music will compliment an array of delicious culinary tastings in fine dining and wine for a unique arts festival based on creative collaborations.

The Four Corners Festival – Saturday, Feb. 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 12 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Skyline Drive and Campbell Avenue – features fine art displays from regional and international artists, gallery tours, arts and crafts demonstrations, creative fashion displays and live performances.

Beowulf Alley Theatre will bring actors outdoors for street performances, presenting a selection of music, scenes and entertainment from their upcoming shows and programs. Their acts at Plaza Colonial will feature “Old Time Radio Theatre,” a glimpse of their show “We Won’t Pay! We Won’t Pay!” and more.

Formed in response to dialogues with local professional actors who wanted a permanent home for theatre artists from Tucson, Beowulf Alley Theatre’s mission is to create captivating experiences for the community through the highest artistic and technical quality productions and education programs.

Beowulf Alley’s unique name was formed by combining two words that reflect opposite ideas. Beowulf stands for the strong traditional and classical theatrical form, whereas Alley is evocative of a contemporary, urban, edgy approach to theatre.

Performances throughout the weekend at Plaza Colonial and Gallery Row also include mariachi, folk, acoustic guitar, violin, harp, jazz and many other musical genres.

To enhance the entertainment lining the free event, attendees can purchase a Tasting Ticket for $20, which includes wine tastings and samplings in inventive food from participating restaurants.

Tasters can discover the exceptional culinary arts in the corners, like the upscale dining atmosphere of Acacia – recently relocated to Gallery Row. Acacia sits above some of the best views of the city and serves award winning cuisine using the finest, all-natural and sustainable ingredients available.

At Plaza Colonial, Schlomo & Vito’s New York Delicatessen will serve savory appetizers from the plaza’s courtyard. Tavolino’s Ristorante Italiano will host a wine sampling from Pietro Rinaldi and Campo del Gelso, with fresh organic tomatoes and basil bruschetta.

At La Encantada, Ra Sushi Bar Restaurant will provide samples of tootsy maki, Firebirds Wood Fired Grill will offer lobster spinach queso and NoRTH: Modern Italian Cuisine will prepare contemporary twists on traditional Italian.

Each plaza at the intersection will bring a unique element to the event, with arts at the center of each corner.
