UA to host Film/TV Panel Discussion feat. guests from major national networks

Inside Track: A Series of Film & TV Panels presents:
“Creating a Great TV Series – From Idea to Development to Production”
Featuring Industry Execs and Network Showrunners

Tucson, AZ (January 31, 2012) — The UA Hanson Film Institute and the Tucson Film Office continue their collaboration on “Inside Track: A Series of Film & TV Panels” for the Tucson creative community as well as anyone interested in how the Television industry works.

The third panel in the ongoing series- “Creating a Great TV Series – From Idea to Development to Production” will take place Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 3:00 to 4:30 PM at the UA Center for Creative Photography and will feature top notch industry professionals discussing how great ideas can be turned into great TV series and what goes on behind-the-scenes on shows like The Mentalist, The New Girl, Person of Interest, The Vampire Diaries and The Office.

Confirmed panelists:
UA Alum Jennifer Breslow, VP of Scripted Series at Lifetime who oversees development and production of pilots and series. She was previously VP of Drama Development at ABC

UA Alum Lisa Roos, VP of Drama Development at Warner Bros. Television who oversees and manages the development of drama pilots from pitch to final cut, and has developed series such as Person of Interest, The Mentalist, Alcatraz and The Vampire Diaries

Robert Myman, a founding partner of Myman, Greenspan, Fineman, Fox, Rosenberg & Light LLP, a leading firm in the entertainment legal community, and previously longtime partner with John Ritter in Adam Productions, where he developed and executive produced network series and TV movies

Joe Port, co-executive producer of The New Girl, writer/producer of Fox comedy pilot Family Album, and writer on comedies such as Dilbert, Just Shoot Me, The Office and others

Moderator:
Lorna Soroko, an award-winning TV development executive, producer, writer and entertainment lawyer. Lorna, who is originally from Los Angeles, currently lives in Tucson and guest teaches at the UA

Clips of some of the panelists’ work may be screened, and the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions.

The Inside Track panels are open to the public. Admission is $8 and all students are admitted free with ID. Cash only at the door. UA faculty are also admitted free (CatCard required). Seats are limited, first come first served.
