The Sip for St. Gregory Wine Tasting Fundraiser March 3 at Skyline Country Club
by Hot Off The Press (Release) on Feb. 10, 2012, under Press ReleasesSt. Gregory College Preparatory School’s signature event, The Sip for St. Gregory: Your Ticket to Taste and Treasures, features an evening of wine tasting, fine dining, entertainment, dancing and live and silent auction Saturday, March 3.
Proceeds from The Sip for St. Gregory provide scholarships or financially-disadvantaged and academically-gifted students. Since 1991, The Sip has raised more than $800,000 in scholarships to St. Gregory, an ndependent school with no religious affiliation.
“The Sip for St. Gregory is a wonderful way for wine ficionados and supporters of education to come together to benefit Tucson students striving or excellence in education,’’ said Rachel Villarreal, St. Gregory irector of development.
St. Gregory parents Tara Krupp and Suzan Costich are serving as co-chairs of the event, with a theme of vintage glamour. “We are thrilled to help with this worthwhile cause and build upon a successful event with a long local history,’’ Krupp said.
Said Costich, “We encourage all of Tucsonto join us for a unique event that guarantees a very entertaining evening. The Sip for St. Gregory is a fantastic way to give back to our community.”
The Sip was created by St. Gregory parent and past board member Jannie Cox in 1991. The event grew annually, with its trademark wine tasting and exquisite auction items.
“The Sip for St. Gregory allows the school to provide outstanding educational opportunities to highly deserving students in Tucson,’’ Villarreal said.
