Central Pet Opens in Tucson
by Hot Off The Press (Release) on Feb. 22, 2012, under Press ReleasesTUCSON, Ariz. – Central Pet has opened a second southern Arizona location near Grant and I-10, announced local owner-operator Julie Grounds. Modeled after Central Pet’s original location in Amado, the new Tucson location offers Southern Arizona pet owners a locally-owned alternative to “big box” pet care. Features include state-of-the-art kennels, luxury suites decorated by local artist Andrea Folts and webcams to view your canine companion on vacation.
Located at 2420 W. Jackrabbit Avenue (just west of I-10, east of Silverbell), Central Pet offers boarding, grooming, training, daycare services and a large selection of organic and natural pet foods. Snake avoidance training under the supervision of a wildlife officer is also a very popular Central Pet service, especially with the approach of Spring. According to Grounds, 10 minutes of training can literally save a desert dog’s life.
A Grand Opening celebration will be held March 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Guests may tour the entire premises including the popular “Wilbur” kennel created especially for Wildcat fans and the 1900-square foot indoor play room for daycare. Guests will also be eligible to receive special discounts and free prizes, enter a raffle to win $300 off future services, visit vendor booths and participate in on-site snake avoidance training.
Since the original Central Pet opened at 2875 East Frontage Road in Amado in 2008, pet owners from Nogales to Green Valley have become loyal customers. Before founding Central Pet, Grounds spent eight years as Vice President of Operations for Dorn Homes in Green Valley, learning the importance of a professional and personalized approach to customer service.
Grounds believes great customer service applies equally to pets. “I only hire pet lovers whom I know will go above and beyond their duties to assure every pet’s safety and comfort,” Grounds said. “We’re also passionate about helping less fortunate animals,” she added. Since 2008 Central Pet has donated many hours of boarding, training, and other goods and services to local shelters and rescue groups, and continues to make this a focus.
