Community Food Bank Adds Two New Executives to Its Development Team

Michael Mandel has joined the Food Bank as Director of Development and will lead the ten member Development Team. Sio Castillo joins the organization as Major Gifts Officer and will be responsible for conducting activities that achieve annual individual major donor contribution goals.
Mr. Mandel has served as Director of Housing Services for the Primavera Foundation, Vice President of External Affairs for Planned Parenthood of Southern Arizona and Communications Director of Southern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault. While Founder/Director of m‘powered communications solutions, he served as Interim Development Director of Wingspan (2008) and Brewster Center Domestic Violence Services (2007-2008). Mr. Mandel has a Bachelor of Arts in Drama, cum laude from Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY and will complete his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Arizona Eller College of Management in November 2012.
Ms. Castillo was Community Outreach Director to Mayor Robert E. Walkup from 2001 to 2011. Prior to that she served as Development Manager for the Sahuaro Girl Scout Council, Program Services Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator for Tucson Shalom House and Community Director and Program Director for the March of Dimes, Southern Arizona Chapter. She has a Bachelor of Science in Health Service Administration from The University of Arizona and a Masters of Public Administration in Nonprofit Management from Troy University in Troy, Alabama.
