Tucson, AZ (September 24) – The Southern Arizona Home Builders Association (SAHBA) Home and Garden Show is coming to the Tucson Convention Center. Visitors will encounter a festive autumn theme with pumpkins, gardening, and arts and crafts – all part of this year’s show.
Home Depot’s team will be offering how-to and do-it-yourself classes. At SAHBA Central, Green Build Council members will provide advice on best practices and sustainable building ideas. Members of SAHBA’s Certified Custom Builders Council will be on hand for new home construction ideas.
At SAHBA’s Remodeler’s Row consumers can access remodelers and remodeling supplier all in one location featuring displays from several local home improvement businesses.
Michaels Where Creativity Happens will showcase crafting ideas including FREE kids’make-it and take-it crafts and face painting on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Also on Saturday, author Kathy Cano-Murillo of awarding winning CraftyChica.com will be sharing her expertise on “Crafts. Drama. Glitter.”
Tucson’s biggest home improvement and remodeling show is getting bigger, too, with expansion into the center’s arena. Central Pet Experience debuts in the center’s arena with pet agility training demonstrations. Classes including nutrition, therapy dog, service dogs, protection training and rattlesnake avoidance will be held on the Central Pet Stage. Pima Animal Care Center will be doing pet adoptions all weekend in the arena.
Tucson Village Farm sponsored by Pima County Cooperative Extension and the University of Arizona will host gardening seminars on Saturday. Visitors can wind their way through Marana Pumpkin Patch and Farm Festival’s Harvest Maze. Drawings will be held each day for all expense paid family packages to the farm.
Tucson’s muralists will combine their talents creating a 3D mural of Alice in Wonderland throughout the weekend. The Sonoita-Elgin Chamber of Commerce brings its region’s wineries to the show with wine tasting samplings in the ballroom.
This year’s sponsors include Patio Pools & Spas, Home Depot Home Services, Southwest Gas, Kinetico Water Systems, Mattress Firm and Central Pet.
The Tucson Convention Center (TCC) is located at 260 South Church Avenue. Free public parking is available at all TCC lots. Show hours are 10 am to 7 pm Friday and Saturday and 10 AM to 5 PM Sunday.
$2 off discount admission coupons are available at sahbahomeshow.com. General admission is $8 for adults; children 12 and under are free. On Friday half-price admissions are available for those 50 and over. Half-price military discounts are available all weekend with proper ID. # # #
