Operation Clean Sweep is a one-day event to kick-start cleaning up of our community. Citizens are encouraged to join with neighbors and grab a hoe, a rake, a broom and a garbage bag and contribute by picking a place that needs cleaning. Community residents can clean up trash and weeds in their own yards, along alleyways and streets. Community groups can also get involved by forming larger teams to clean around churches, schools, buildings, and more.
The event is sponsored by Green Things, a locally-owned plant grower and retailer located at 3235 East Allen Road in the Binghampton Historic District. Other sponsors include the Tucson Metro Chamber, Tucson Regional Economic Development, City of Tucson, Pima County, Pima Association of Governments and Tucson Clean and Beautiful.
