Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College women’s basketball team (7-7) held off Parkland College in the second half to win 64-58 on Saturday in the final matchup of the Bruce Fleck Classic at the West Campus’ Aztec Gym. The Aztecs went 3-0 for the tournament and are currently on a 5-game winning streak.
Down 31-30 at halftime, the Aztecs came out in the second half and went on a 13-4 run to take a 43-35 lead. Later in the half, Parkland went on a 9-0 run of its own to take a 48-47 lead but Pima would take the lead once again and never trail again.

“It was an excellent week for the girls,” Pima coach Todd Holhaus said. We won three grueling games against tough competition. It’s good momentum going into conference next week.”
