The first phase of the 2013 Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona Cookie Program launches Friday, January 18, 2013 when GSSoAZ volunteers stop by to pick up 384,484 boxes (that’s more than 7.6 million cookies) of Girl Scout cookies from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Pima County at the Bekins Warehouse and Casas Adobes Church.
“The Cookie Drop is an exciting time for all Girl Scouts as thousands of boxes are delivered and then distributed to all the local troops. So everyone’s favorite cookies soon will be available,” said Debbie Rich, Chief Executive Officer, Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona. “With the money earned, girls gain the resources to fund service projects, go to camps and try new activities.”
The next day, Saturday, January 19, 2013, Girl Scouts throughout the area begin neighborhood door-to-door sales. Cookie booth sales begin Wednesday, January, 30, 2013 and continue through Sunday, March 3, 2013.
