The Marana Foundation for Educational Excellence is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the Marana Unified School District through the recognition of outstanding school personnel and volunteers, service, fundraising, and distribution of grants to teachers on an annual basis.
Incorporated in 1992,the Marana Foundation For Educational Excellence consists of a group of parents, businesses, school personnel, and other interested community members who have joined together to support the Marana School Districtand its efforts to provide the very best education possible for all students.
Our vision is. . . Creating excitement in education through dynamic partnerships.
Our mission is. . . To develop community partnerships for educational excellence to fund, support and enhance innovative educational programs.
The Marana Foundation’s mini-grant program awards mini-grants on an annual basis to teaching staff within the Marana Unified School District for innovative and enriching programs or projects designed to enhance the curriculum for students.The Foundation believes that the best ideas for creating an exciting educational environment for children comes from those educators that work directly with students. The community can observe the results of mini-grants throughout the Marana district in a variety of reading, math, science, fine arts, and preschool enhancement programs. To date, the Foundation has donatedover $100,000 to fund educational programs and projects within the Marana district. In 2008, teachers were granted over $10,000.00.
