TUCSON, Arizona, Feb. 21, 2013 – The Southern Arizona Logistics Education Organization (SALEO) has announced the following new officers: Miguel A. Valencia, SALEO president, principal of Commodity Merchants Exchange, Sally Crum, executive vice president of logistics & transportation, Raytheon Missile Systems Manager of Supply Chain Logistics, Material Delivery Services, Hector Valenzuela, senior vice president of business/sponsorship development, Mode Transportation, Agency Owner – President, Evelyn Wright, secretary, workforce development specialist at Pima County OneStop and Goodwill Industries of Tucson, Nils Urman, treasurer, of Pima County OneStop and Upsilon Consulting International.
SALEO works through education, networking, and workforce development and offers a forum for logistics providers and users to share information about the latest issues affecting transportation and logistics. SALEO offers information about education efforts focused on producing a well qualified and self-sustaining logistics workforce, regional transportation planning that affects freight movements, and economic development activities that promote the logistics industry. It also offers logistics professionals in transition, the opportunity to network with potential employers. As part of its educational mission, SALEO has awarded over $20,000 in scholarships over the past two years.
