TUCSON – Chapel Haven West will hold an open house April 12 to showcase its award-winning program for young adults with an autism spectrum disorder or related social disability.
The event will be held on campus at 1701 North Park Ave. and will feature an overview of the program, a workshop on social communication led by Chapel Haven West’s speech and language pathologist and tours with students who will share their experiences negotiating the path toward independence.
The open house will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and refreshments will be served.
Chapel Haven West is a 24-month residential transition program for adults, 18 and older, with autism spectrum or related social disabilities.
The program provides a unique curriculum grounded in social communication instruction, life skills, vocational exploration and college supports. Chapel Haven West has a strong relationship with the University of Arizona, including in providing college level social communication classes at the university.
