Colorful and Versatile Women’s Wilderness Fashions Show
Why wear your boyfriend’s hiking shorts when you can be a flower in the wildernessin a handmade hiking skirt from Athena Garments?
Athena, aka Robin Hall, started sewing with her mother and grandmother on a Singer treadle sewing machine growing up on a dairy farm in northern New Hampshire. An active
backpacker, hiker and bicyclist, Robin longed for colorful and versatile active clothing for women. In 2010 she began making her own clothes to complement her love of the outdoors. Soon after her active women friends began asking for their own hiking and biking skirts.
In 2012 she added an Athena Southwest line inspired by her love of southwest vintage designs. In October 2012 Athena Southwest exhibited in France with the Paris-San Carlos Art Exchange.
On Friday May 24th Athena Garments is producing a fashion show in support of the Lacey Jarrell Foundation at the Ward 6 offices, 3202East 1st Street. From 7 – 9pm active women of
all ages will model the hiking and biking skirts and other Athena fashions.
Athena Outdoors is donating 25% of sales to the foundation
