Tucson Jewish Community Center To Host Artist Reception For Gary Swimmerby Hot Off The Press (Release) on Jul. 21, 2013, under Press Releases
TUCSON (July 19, 2013) – The Tucson Jewish Community Center (JCC) is featuring a new show by local artist Gary Swimmer. A reception for “Line/Work: New Metal Drawings” will be held Thursday, July 25 from 5-7 p.m. The exhibit features a collection of drawings fabricated and translated into steel sculptures.
Swimmer was born in Hungary, the only child of Holocaust survivors. He arrived in the United States as a young child. Over the years he has lived, studied and worked in New York, Baltimore, Liege, Belgium and Tucson, Arizona. He is currently represented in Tucson by Obsidian Gallery and in New York by Jack and Marcel. He dedicates this exhibit is to his mother, Klara Swimmer.
Swimmer’s works are on display in the Tucson Jewish Community Center’s Fine Art Gallery through August 14, 2013 during the following hours:
Monday-Thursday 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
Sunday & Friday 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
Closed Saturdays and Jewish holidays.
All are welcome.
