NORTHWEST MEDICAL CENTER CEO AND ORO VALLEY HOSPITAL CFO RECEIVE EXCELLENCE IN LEADERSHIP AWARDSby Hot Off The Press (Release) on Aug. 22, 2013, under Press Releases
Northwest Medical Center (NMC) CEO Kevin Stockton and Oro Valley Hospital (OVH) CFO Rodney Higgins have been honored with Excellence in Leadership Awards by Community Health Systems, one of the nation’s leading operators of general acute-care hospitals. The organization’s affiliates include Northwest Medical Center, Oro Valley Hospital and 135 other hospitals in 29 states. The Excellence in Leadership Award recognizes hospital leaders who have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to quality healthcare and operational excellence.
Kevin Stockton took the helm as CEO at NMC in 2011 when he returned to his hometown of Tucson from Las Vegas. Since then, NMC has continued to expand its services, recruit new physicians to the community and raise the bar on the quality of care provided at the hospital.
Stockton credits the efforts and commitment of the hospital’s staff, physicians and Board of Trustees. “This award, while presented to me, is really representative of the dedicated professionals we have at Northwest. It’s their daily focus on improving the experience and outcomes of our patients that is reflected in this award. I am proud to lead this team as we work to provide excellent care to the community.”
Rodney Higgins joined Oro Valley Hospital as CFO in 2012 from Claremore Regional Hospital in Oklahoma. Under his leadership, he has helped improve employee satisfaction, has managed hospital expenses and supplies and has instituted a financial training program.
Higgins is complimentary of the professionals working at Oro Valley Hospital. “We have a tremendous leadership team, staff and physicians who are committed to providing the best care they can to our patients. They make my job easy and it’s gratifying to see the results when we hear from our patients about their experience at our hospital.”
