TRP and USA . . . What Does the Future Hold for Dirt Track Racing in Tucson?

by on Jul. 24, 2010, under Auto Racing, Family Entertainment, Sprint Cars, TRP, Tucson Race Results, Tucson Raceway Park, USA Raceway, Winged Sprint Cars

On August 21st Tucson Raceway Park, TRP, will feature the first Dirt car racing there since transitioning to asphalt 17 years ago.   TRP had scheduled August 21st  with the SWDRA Super Late Models, in an attempt to take advantage of the off week at USA Raceway.

As sometimes in the racing world, schedules do change,  USA has  scheduled a winged Sprint car show originally scheduled at Prescott Valley Raceway, promoted by Dee Crippen.  USA also added the X-Mods, Hornets and Factory Stocks, divisions that Tucson Raceway Park planned to run on the 21st of August.

As a race fan, what are your thoughts on having 2 Dirt Race Tracks in Tucson?   Why do you think 2 tracks will do well or why do you think they may both struggle?  Or will one survive and which one will it be?

These and many more questions are being asked in the racing community and each begs for answers.  Time is a teacher and we may just have to wait for some of the answers.  But until then, you are asked to give us your thoughts and opinions.   I only ask that you keep it clean and be respectful.

I will weigh in on this and offer my thoughts.
