Kelsie Foley on her way to her 1st Win at TIR!

Kelsy Foley, a 15 year old sophmore at Sabino High School, is an all “A” student who enjoys running track and playing volleyball.  Although, the excellent grades sets her apart from the majority of students,  she has excelled in another sport that no other 15 year old female student in Arizona even participates in at a competitive level . . . Stock Car Racing!  As a matter of fact, the only other 15 year old racer in the area who is a very accomplished and winning driver is fellow Sabino student Brandon Farrington who participates in the modified class at TIR.

Kelsie won her first race at TIR on July 21st, and did so by passing Kalvin Catlin the Factory Stock points leader and 8 time winner this season.  Although it was her first win she was very grateful to her parents, her crew man Joe and to the sponsors but it wasn’t that big of a deal because as her father, John Foley, a very successful pavement driver explains:  ” Kelsie simply expects to win.  We have experimented with different set ups each and every time we raced this year  and two races ago Kelsie felt real comfortable with the car and the way it handled with the set up.  We kept the same set up the next race and she found different racing lines and caught back up to Kalvin and patienly passed him for her first win!  Kalvin and his team are the class of the field and we admire their success.”

Scaling the Car in the Race Shop

Kalvin is beatable and Kelsie believes she can win everytime she races, so the fans are in for a good show and will get their moneys worth the rest of the season.

John is very proud to have a competitive daughter, who understands the importance of team work that begins in the race shop and finishes on the track.  Race fans you have a chance to watch raw talent developing into a skillful race car driver and you can do so this weekend at TIR.
