(Keith Ames September 22, 2013) Rain delayed the qualifying and the patient fans saw great racing action in all classes at Tucson Speedway on Saturday. The rain came and went but the Thunder roared throughout the evening from the roar of 5 divisions of exciting racing action.
Ron Norman, the legendary Tucson Speedway Super Late Model competitor, notches a second win in two races at Tucson Speedway. Matt Levin was inside row 3 and Ron Norman lined up next to Levin when the Green Flag dropped for the start of the Super Late Model Main Event. By lap two Levin, was leading the pack and Norman was close behind when Mariah McGriff brought out the yellow on the 3rd lap when she spun and came to rest against a tire barrier protecting the light post in turn #1. McGriff’s night came to an end with damage to the right side of her # 8 ride and she retired for the evening. Norman followed and raced with Levin for 25 laps and just didn’t have quite enough over take him. A yellow came out with 5 laps to go in the 30 lap feature and that became the break Norman needed. He was able to take advantage of the restart and was able to earn a second win in two starts. Matt Levin finished 2nd and was followed by Curtis Lansing and Rookie Bruce Daley in fourth and Ned Champine rounded out the top five. Curtis Lansing was the Super Late Model Dash Winner.
Rick Butler, starting outside row 3 for the Late Model Main, took the lead on lap 4 and never looked back. The always competitive Brad Moyer followed in 2nd with Rookie Don Dority finishing a strong 3rd. Scott Strachan and Brad Roush rounded out the top five.

PJ Menga was a close 3rd as Jeff Bennett locked up 4th and last race modified winner, David Levitt from Sierra Vista settled for 5th.
