		<description><![CDATA[My first attempt at smoking was in 1939, when I was nine years old. It came to an end when my late Father caught me at it and gave me a sore backside!

Started again when I joined the British Royal Navy as a Boy, in 1945. 
Stopped for good 12 years ago when I had to have an operation to open two arteries. Second best thing I did - first best was in 1954, when I married my Wife. ]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[Smoking was everywhere and a part of life - doctor&#039;s offices, buses, business offices, etc.  Everyone had ashtrays on hand, and ashtrays were always a gift you could give or make - and there were so many creative and cool ones.  I made an ashtray at school.  I had also crocheted a little cigarette/lighter container for my mom lol.
 
Many ads even had pictures of moms holding babies.

C&#039;mon..Lucy and Ricky smoked and they were the best! Actually, in all the old movies and shows everyone smoked.
