Odd Pueblo: Snappy or crappy?
This fun Odd Pueblo feature asks the audience to rate a trend, topic or sighting of something around town: is it snappy or crappy?
The last snappy or crappy, the mysterious MoonDance Saloon which is rumored to be somewhere near Arivaca, was the snappiest of all thus far.
But this latest one may just rival it.
Kooky porch décor. I find it fully snappy.

I see this little doll daily on our midtown dog walks. She sometimes has a chewed straw in her mouth and was once even knocked over on her side. It’s cool to wonder what she’ll be up to next. Moving beyond the doll, this snappy or crappy addresses all strange porch décor.
Snappy or crappy? Please respond:
a. It’s snappy and fun. It makes me giggle to see kooky things on people’s porches.
b. How crappy. I bet it brings down neighborhood house values worse than 10-inch weeds.
c. I like kooky décor but this doll creeps me out.
d. I have no sense of humor and nothing should be on the porch, not even a welcome mat. People could trip on the mat and break open their skulls.
Do you have a snappy or crappy sighting around town? Please e-mail rynski@tucsoncitizen.com

Your gettin’ to be a little snap happy, It’s snappy and I think the front porch says a lot about the owners. Empty porches give me the Mausoleum creeps. And I was all over Arivaca and I never seen a moondance saloon.

So glad I got a snappy vote on kooky porches, thanks! I wholly agree that porches devoid of any decor are very ho-hum. You can definitely tell where fun people live by things like dolls chewing straws by the front door. I am beginning to believe more and more that MoonDance Saloon was a figment of imagination. It did, however, have quite the snazzy porch decor…

I like it! Then again, I am fond of anything that makes me say, “What the hell?’.

I like decor on a porch, but not garbage. But then, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess so is garbage!

Tucson has the snappiness of Yuma, just bigger is all. Same thing for 30 years. Crappy to any picture in the future is my response.

Hows about talkin’ ‘em into some Ryn-art? A nice set of Rynchimes or a killer gecko.
This stuff is blase, almost criminal, no wonder Lefty likes it.

Both young and those aging who really want to enjoy Tucson’s “uniqueness”and inner core, must get to know the Downtown and Fourth Avenue Meccas.
The Heart of Tucson and all it’s History and it’s Future, lies Downtown. Art and Culture abound. Music and all things creative, casually and warmly embraces all who love to mingle and observe. Museums and restaurants and Wishing Wells; The Old Pueblo thrives and hopefully; shall grow.
Check out “Downtown.” Do your Dance……………..
