Come on Davonte...Commit Irish! Immediate playing time with a wealth of talent around you ( great opportunity for big time bowls ) to play with on National TV every week. 98% graduation rate for its athletes. And no rebuilding process to take a chance on....If the talent around you is not top notch. Think of the potential to NOT perform to your athletic abilities due to lack of support offensively or defensively....Go Irish...and we are the only ones here posting for you....

Paola Boivin writes, "The office of the president demands respect," then condemns a private citizen's choice as disrespectful. I look forward to the author sharing an opinion concerning the current occupant's disrespect for the office of the president, starting with his failure to uphold and defend the US Constitution, and how his significant disregard for the rule of law disrespects us all. Recess appointments? Auto industry takeover versus bankruptcy law? Solyndra? I could go on for a very long time.

Well said. Add to that, hockey is a team sport. Tim set himself apart from the team and allowed his ego to run riot. Goalies are often called the most important player on the team - Timmy obviously believes it. I'm really glad the Bruins have Tuuka Rask, another #1 goalie. I think they're going to need him.

If athletic director Bob Larue and principle Brian Corte knew Sanders was not going to play his starters against Chaparral and did not tell Sanders they disagreed and his job was on the line if he did, they should be the ones being fired. Hard to believe they didn't know, everyone new weeks/months in advance, in fact you wrote about it your paper.

This story, like others assumes guilt on the part of Joe Paterno even though he has been charged with no crime. We know from multiple testimonies under oath that Paterno contacted his supervisor (Curley) within 24 hours and was the first to request authorities hear McQueary's report. (Shultz was the vice president overseeing University Police which has legal jurisdiction over Penn State campuses.) We have no information regarding what steps Paterno took after the initial report in 2002. Accusations that Paterno did nothing to follow up are unfounded speculation.

Vicky Triponey had a controversial career at Penn State which included disbanding the student government and cutting funding to Penn State's campus radio station. To date, Triponey's accusations of favoritism lack independent corroboration.

The article depicts Charles Young as a champion of academics and Paterno his foil. However the article does not detail which policies Young and Paterno differed on and why. It is a mistake to assume Paterno's influence on academic policies left universities worse off, simply because Young was on the losing side.
