According to an ESPN report, the Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Clippers, and Milwaukee Bucks have agreed to a three team deal highlighted by guard J.J. Reddick and forward Jared Dudley going to Los Angeles with guard Eric Bledsoe and forward Caron Butler going to Phoenix. The Clippers and Suns each sent a 2014 second round pick to Milwaukee. In the NBA, organizations always go through cycles, with periods of great success that often come to a dramatic, and sometimes ugly, close. That’s the reason why the recent extended success by franchises such as the San Antonio Spurs is so shocking. It is for this reason that, especially for tormented franchises as Golden State and Phoenix, periods of success are remembered so fondly and vividly. Neither franchise has won a championship since 1975, and neither have even reached a NBA Finals since the ’93 Suns took the Chicago Bulls to 6 games. (more…)
