ASU rides big win over Washington to eventful recruiting weekby Fabian Ardaya on Oct. 22, 2013, under Arizona State Sun Devils
The Arizona State Sun Devils (5-2, 3-1 Pac-12) came into their matchup last Saturday against the No. 20 Washington Huskies looking to make a statement. And with a 53-24 win, did they ever, impressing the multitude of recruits in attendance.
The win jumpstarted a series of moves by hopeful Sun Devil recruits, creating a big impact on how the rest of Arizona State’s recruiting season will turn out. Here’s just some of the big moves:
Manny Wilkins, QB, Novato, CA
The four star quarterback out of San Marin High School (Novato, CA) has already committed to Arizona State, but his presence on Saturday afternoon loomed large on the other prospects:

Wilkins has been active on the recruiting trails, talking to fellow recruits on visit and on Twitter to try to join him as a Sun Devil, getting along with fellow recruits Tyler Whiley and actively talking to considering recruits such as Casey Tucker.

Harvey and Calhoun also go to the same high school in California. @Manny_Wilkins11 convinced both of them to come out this weekend.

D.J. Calhoun, OLB/DE, El Cerrito, CA
The four star recruit started an active Monday for Sun Devil hopefuls by decommitting from USC early Monday morning. Calhoun, who was on visit at Arizona State’s big win, also has offers from UCLA, Miami (FL), Nebraska, Boise State, and Washington, among other schools.

Jalen Harvey, WR, El Cerrito, CA Fellow four star and teammate of Calhoun, Harvey started the day making news by decommitting from Cal:

He would make more news later on Monday, becoming just the latest recruit to commit to Arizona State:
Joseph Wicker, DL, Long Beach, CA The three star 2015 defensive line prospect flew a bit under the radar in Monday night’s buzz, but was offered by Arizona State:
Sam Jones, OL, Highlands Ranch, OL Jones came on visit to Arizona State on Saturday, and appeared to be very impressed with what he saw:
Tuesday night’s big news featured the commitment of four star recruit Sam Jones. Jones, who probably will play at offensive tackle, will shore up the Sun Devils offensive line for years to come:
Kenny Young , LB, River Ridge, LA Young, a four star inside linebacker prospect, has been actively recruited by Wilkins and others via Twitter, and even threw a bone to Sun Devils fans by showing his interest:
