The reasons you listed are the exact reason that the team Captain idea was idiotic. This is probably the worst selection for a home run derby in recent memory. Hopefully this captain idea is a one-year and done thing... because it's a joke. If it's always the winner that picks it and this AL East clique never invites anyone outside of its own division, we'll never see other deserving players from the AL.

My wife and I caught up on the series through the DVR in the past few weeks and have enjoyed the show's atmosphere (even while getting a good laugh at the implausibly hard Seattle rain) and fine acting. (Would Sexton have made a good Tony Soprano?).

It's been easy enough to overlook some of the show's flaws, but that was one whopper of a miscalculation to not deliver the kind of resolution that was all but promised in the finale.

I liked the season and the finale but found certain aspects of both to be implausible to the point of distraction. (How on earth was Rosie's Dad let anywhere near the teacher's hospital bed? How did the teacher's wife not recognize him. Great scene at the vending machine, though.) Nonetheless, I'll be there for the second season. I much prefer an occasionally inconsistent show with interesting characters and performances to most of the other, more formula driven, stuff on the tube.

Why would Stewart ask reporters to dig up dirt? I am not sure......

Well, I have an idea. Maybe he just couldn't stand by and see our program being led by someone exhibiting alcohol/self control issues. Holgerson's incident was and is a big deal. While at a casino at 3am on a weeknight; First he was reportedly cut off from drinking, (most people would leave at that point) then security had to get involved, apparently without success.... so THEN police had to be called. But we are supposed to be consoled by the fact that he didn't ultimately get arrested. LOL Let's give him a pat on the head and a promotion..... C'mon, this guy is going to be the highest paid person on the state's payroll? I pay taxes here and this is an outrage.

WVU has a pattern of turning a blind eye to this sort of thing. Our basketball coach lost his job in Cincinatti due to a DUI. Bob Huggins wasn't just "a little drunk" either. (see article below and video of arrest was widely talked about at that time) He staggered out of his car, couldn't say his ABC's or stand up straight and had vomited down the inside driver's door of his car. Geez....Driving while puking might be a clue that you should pull over....and this DUI was AFTER he had a heart attack. What more of a wakeup call did he need to get his drinking under control? He still didn't learn and he lost his job. He is just lucky he didn't kill someone in that condition. Considering the message that we try to send to young people about the consequences of drinking and driving, it's nothing short of amazing that he is still employed in college sports after that spectacle.

I guess I can now be accused aka Stewart of digging up dirt on Huggy....nope just used Google.

This is serious stuff folks. These are adult men we are talking about here. They also make a boatload of money for what they do. We have every right to question them when their behavior points to an inability to simply control themselves.

Maybe the the fans of WV have their own addiction issues.....they are addicted to "wins" so much that they are willing to disregard character and personal responsibility.

Brad, i read your article. First, you are to be commended for writing an article in the Dessert about our Mountaineers. Thank you for your OPINION article. I am a WVU native, but like so many, moved out of state years ago. None the less, am, will always be a die hard. Just wanted to put my thoughts. I think if you were to have an off the record conversation w/ Ollie Luck, he didnt want Stew back for 1 more yr and intended to cut the cord. The truth is behind the scenes, Luck was vindicated because he appeased pro-Stew boosters and settled with this odd no win scenario. Politics played a major role in this as they will with any descent program. We Eers fans tend to get defensive over the yrs. Understanably at times, but I also think we fans need to step back and be proud instead of defensive. You chose to write an article on us which is far from our home state! Thats is incredible to me and shows how our school has grown interest over the yrs. Lastly, very classy move to come back and revert back to your posters and provide honest direction.. You have a fan in Park City.. not too far from you. i wish you the very best.. Ever make it to Salt Lake area let me know.. best to you and GOOOOOO EERS!

Good review. I agree with your sentiments for the most part, but would probably say that this album is slightly above par for the band and is the most consistent album to date. I'll be back to see what other albums you review.
I reviewed this album on my blog as well and would love to get your opinion on my review. http://bradsmusicalmusings.blogspot.com/
Thanks! And once again, good job.
