VIDEO: TEA Party to hold forum bashing Ethnic Studies featuring Tom Horne and TU4SD

by on Aug. 13, 2011, under Ethnic Studies, Headline news, Right-wing hate

The TEA Party is holding a fundraiser on September 10 from 2-5pm at the Phoenix Airport Marriot, making money by bashing Tucson’s successful use of Mexican American perspectives when teaching American History, leading to higher graduation rates and higher AIMS test scores for Latino students.

Attorney General and author of HB2281, the Ethnic Studies ban, will be speaking at a “Panel Discussion on Mexican-American Raza Controversial Ethnic Studies Program” and to hear his infinite wisdom you have to pay $15 to enter.

Also attending are other right-wingers, including two members of TU4SD, Loretta Hunnicutt and Gabby Mercer who is also running against Raul Grijalva.

The host of the forum is Honey Marques, founder of the Arizona Mainstream Project, which mirrors TU4SD and the Hunnicutts but based out of Phoenix and both inspired by the TEA Party. You get to hear all the greatest hits:

  • Obama’s radical associations vs. La Raza’s supposedly communist connections.
  • Obamacare and Obamarx vs. La Raza’s Marxist teachers (what AZ Republic’s Doug MacEachern calls them).

“Obama is far from representing the principles this country was founded on… the TEA Party movement really grabbed a hold of me… you look at Obama’s associations and you realize that Obama is not a man that supports freedom.” — Honey Marques, founder of American Mainstream Project.

TEA Party subgroup AMP is a mirror of TU4SD in Tucson, spreading lies and fear of a successful educational program for Latinos.

The forum will be moderated by Terry Gilberg, who interviews Honey Marques in the video above.

Listen at around the 12:30 mark where Honey calls progressives “Marxist communist socialists.”

What is disturbing is that TEA Party subgroups such as AMP and TU4SD spread lies about “La Raza” comparing them to communists and Marxists, and then other members of the TEA Party, armed and ready for civil war, are ready to cut out the cancer that ALL Democrats and commies are.

When TEA Party members were posting pictures of Latinos outside the TUSD building to have an “enemies list” the album is called La Raza/Commies. Oh yeah, and Islam is a dangerous religion.

At the 18:15 mark after talking about the evils of Islam and Commies, Honey mirrors Hunni-cutt and spreads fear of the La Raza program out of Tucson.

Too much bad Honey/Hunni will give you a bad TEA-th ache, and the easily scared may take matters into their own hands in the next Tucson Tragedy. Guns and fear and an enemy are a recipe for disaster.

    . . . . .”everyone is indebted to the Marxists for class awareness”. . . . .:    enough said.

Horne is pathetic. It’s really sad to see people cater and capitalize on Hatred and lies like he does. The devision he claims Ethnic studies created he has far surpassed.  Like Arpaio, Horne thrives on polarizing communities over race for his own political gain.

Tlazos. Important to point out that TeaParty, Horne and cabal SPREAD LIES. Red-baiting and the “Marxist” name-calling are evasive. Bottom line is that EVERYONE IS indebted to the Marxists for class awareness, labor exploitation (whose labor has NOT ever been exploited? let them cast the first stone…), not to mention minimum wages, THE WEEKEND, the 8 HOUR work day, public school, health care, freeways, unions, … . Are Tea Party people ignorant (spreading and believing lies) out of convenience (it’s easier to not think critically, question), or because they don’t want to relinquish racist white privileges?

I don’t understand why people get offended by the Marxist label and then turn right around and praise it.

Person of color: “Hey, good news! I got promoted to store manager!”
Antiracist Marxist: “Why would you demean yourself and betray your people by taking a job meant for white people?”

Person of color: “Hey, good news! We closed the deal on that fantastic house in Oro Valley!”
Antiracist Marxist: “Why would you want to live in a community that puts up gates to keep non-whites out?”

The words are a fanciful invention, but the messages are not. There’s a whole different group of haters trying to keep certain people from riding in the front of the bus these days than there was sixty years ago. They’ve been doing a pretty damn good job of it, too.

Back in 1955 they would have told Rosa Parks not to bother. “You don’t even belong on that bus,” they would have said. “Come ride our bus instead, it’s meant for people like you.”

“There’s a whole different group of haters trying to keep certain people from riding in the front of the bus these days than there was sixty years ago.”

        Correction:

There’s the same old group who have always been afraid that their seats at the front of the bus will no longer be reserved just for them.

        • O-dog

You’ll be saying the same thing about whoever rides that bus, no matter what seating policies they advocate, as long as that bus is on the road.
