VIDEO: Aztlan Underground performs BANNED SONG in Arizona at Schools of Ethnic Studies in Tucson
by DA Morales on Jan. 25, 2012, under Headline newsTo demonstrate how ridiculous this racist attack on Mexican American Studies is, in Tom Horne’s original ruling, one of his last acts as state superintendent, he cites the lyrics to a popular song by Aztlan Underground as a reason to ban MAS classes in Tucson.

Things have not gotten any better.
Judge Kowal’s ruling uses lyrics to a popular song by Los Tigres del Norte to find the MAS classes in violation. These Republican leaders thought these lyrics were part of a poem in a book in the classroom.
They are poems in a sense, but they are just lyrics in a song.
And they are part of the “evidence” used to ban MAS.
Aztlan Underground attended the new School of Ethnic Studies yesterday in Tucson, and performed this BANNED MUSIC live for the students who skipped out on the 100th day of classes to attend workshops led by university professors and community leaders.
