Huge union endorsement in CD1 race: AFSCME #449 supports Wenona for Arizona

Tucson, AZ – We are extremely proud to announce that last night, in a unanimous vote, AFSCME #449 (Pima County), representing the blue collar workers of the City of Tucson, Pima Community College, TUSD, and all employees of El Rio Medical Centers endorsed Wenona Benally Baldenegro for Arizona’s First Congressional District.
Says Wenona, “I am proud to stand with AFSCME, the United Steelworkers of America, IAMAW (Machinists), and all other labor unions in standing up for America’s working people and middle-class families.
As the next Congresswoman for CD1, I will support the Employee Free Choice Act, I will advocate for fair trade over free trade, and I will work to end the Bush tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy.”
