Tucson Carnaval: Dancing in the Streets, Feb. 19by Pamela Powers Hannley on Feb. 18, 2011, under Uncategorized
You don’t have to travel to New Orleans or Rio to enjoy great dance music and colorful Carvaval costumes. The 4th Annual Tucson Carnaval will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Armory Park. OK– this is event is on the scale of celebrations in those other cities, but it’s loads of fun.
The free, family-friendly event will have two stages of music and interactive street dancing from 1 p.m. – 8 p.m. The parade with samba drums and dancers will begin at 2 p.m., and Flam Chen will provide the grand finale performance. In addition, there will be demonstrations, workshops, and food.
