Wednesday – July 27 – Eat for a Cause/Cats
Dine at Lovin’ Spoonfuls vegetarian restaurant on July 27 from noon to 8 p.m. and a portion of your check will be donated to Casa de los Gatos when presenting a flier which ensures that your purchase benefits the organization. Lovin’ Spoonfuls is located at 2990 N. Campbell Ave. Tell all your friends. Donations of scoop-able cat litter and canned cat food will also be accepted here.
Sunday – July 31 – Celebrate Mutts
Celebrate National Mutt’s Day which was created to raise awareness to the plight of mixed breed dogs in shelters around the nation and to educate the public about the sea of mixed breed dogs or mutts that desperately are awaiting their forever homes. All mixed breed dogs may be adopted for only $31 at the Humane Society of So. Ariz.
Monday – August 1 – Owney/Pet Food Drive
From 5 to 6 p.m. the Southern Arizona Transportation Museum at 414 N. Toole Ave., will host an event featuring the Owney postage stamp to support the “Dog Days of Summer” food drive benefiting the Humane Society of Southern Arizona (HSSA). In addition to accepting pet food donations benefiting area pet shelters, Owney-stamped items will be available for sale and a display of memorabilia will be exhibited, thanks to the Postal History Foundation.
Wednesday – August 3 – Dine out for Animals
The Humane Society of Southern Arizona and the Animal Cruelty Taskforce invites you to On the Border Mexican Restaurant located at 5205 E. Broadway Blvd. This “Dine Out” event will help to raise much needed funds which allow for the medical treatment and care for hundreds of animals rescued from abusive situations. Please show your support by printing out the flier and bringing it with you to On the Border. The flier guarantees that 10% of your bill will be donated and matched by an anonymous donor. Dining hours are from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Sunday – August 7 – Wine Tasting for Spay & Neuter
A new 501 c3 non-profit organization called Pawsitively Cats is hosting a wine tasting and silent auction at CataVinos Wine Shoppe, 3063 N. Alvernon Way, from 4 to 6 p.m. The cost is $20/pp ($10 is tax deductible). Meet some cats including two blind kittens that are looking for a sponsor or adopter. Pawsitively Cats rescues cats and kittens, with a focus on Trap/Neuter/Return programs and education.
Tuesday – August 16 – Eat for a Cause/HOPE
Lovin’ Spoonfuls Vegetarian Restaurant is hosting a HOPE Animal Shelter night. Bring your friends and enjoy the soups, salads, sandwiches, dinner entrees, and luscious desserts at Lovin’ Spoonfuls. Lovin’ Spoonfuls was recently rated in PETA’s top 5 vegan desserts. You must present this flyer to ensure that a portion of your check will go to helping HOPE Animal Shelter. The restaurant is located at 2990 N. Campbell Ave; you may dine from noon to 8 p.m.

Do you want to know more about volunteer opportunities with Gabriel’s Angels in Southern Arizona? Join the next information session on at the Dusenberry-River Branch Library, 5605 E. River Road, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The information session will
outline the southern Arizona program and steps needed to become a Gabriel’s Angels Pet Therapy Team or Helping Hand. Please make reservations at the website.

On this day the artful menu of Doug Levy’s Feast gives back to a purrfect cause when you present this flier for Casa de los Gatos from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 3719 E. Speedway.
Sunday – Aug 28 – Wine Tasting/Cuddles & Catnips
Join Casa de los Gatos and friends for a wine tasting fundraiser at CataVinos Wine Shoppe, 3063 N. Alvernon Way from 4 to 6 p.m. Sample six wines and snacks for $20 ($10 tax deductible). A silent auction and raffle basket rounds out the fun.
