Tucson no-kill shelter – HOPE news alert, wish listby Karyn Zoldan on Aug. 16, 2011, under Animal News, Cats Meow, Feline Fun, Dogs, Canines, Fun with Fido, Barking Encouraged, Wish Lists
Appeal from HOPE Animal Shelter Executive Director Susan Scherl:
We have very little money in the bank.
Yes, it is affecting everyone…even the critters. I know we are all suffering from the woes of the country’s financial state. I know this is a difficult time to give but it is desperation time for HOPE Animal Shelter. We are in a crisis. There is very little money left in our accounts and despite the fact that we have cut down on expenses we are finding it more difficult to stretch what we have. Veterinary expenses have skyrocketed. When you commit to the no-kill philosophy, your medical costs can be very high. HOPE does whatever it needs to keep our animals happy and healthy.
Please donate what you can…every little (and big) bit helps. There are many ways to donate. You can click the Donate Now , send a check, or call with your credit card information.
Your generosity in the past has helped us through some trying times. I hope you will help again.
Tuesday – August 16 – Eat for a Cause/HOPE
Lovin’ Spoonfuls Vegetarian Restaurant is hosting a HOPE Animal Shelter night. Bring your friends and enjoy the soups, salads, sandwiches, dinner entrees, and luscious desserts at Lovin’ Spoonfuls. Lovin’ Spoonfuls was recently rated in PETA’s top 5 vegan desserts list. You must present this flyer to ensure that a portion of your check will go to helping HOPE Animal Shelter. The restaurant is located at 2990 N. Campbell Ave; you may dine from noon to 8 p.m.

(Photo is courtesy of HOPE Animal Shelter – Trixie is currently available for adoption. She adores people, and gets along with other dogs and cats. She has a “juvenile cataract” on one eye and will need eye drops 3 days a week for the rest of her life. The other thing she needs is a home to call her own. With you?)
