Tucson Fundraiser for Midtown Dog Attackby Karyn Zoldan on Nov. 14, 2011, under Animal Events, Dogs, Canines, Fun with Fido, Barking Encouraged
Two months ago Tucson Tails brought you a story about a dog that was attacked by three loose dogs in Midtown (on Columbus between 5th & Speedway). The dog – Maia – suffered horrific physical, emotional, and expensive injuries. According to her adopter Melanie Emerson, “It was the worst day of my life.” Fortunately, some good Samaritans came to her assistance.
The event is a celebration of life and perseverance and the bond between dog and owner. Maia continues to recover as Melanie pays off the steep veterinary bills.
The general public (that’s you) is invited to Maia’s Wine Tasting on Sunday, November 20 from 4 to 6 p.m. at CataVinos Wine Shoppe – 3063 N. Alvernon Way (one block south of Ft. Lowell).
Yvonne Foucher, owner of CataVinos and also a dog rescuer, is kindly sharing proceeds from the event to help cover Maia’s veterinary expenses.
The cost is $25 / per person (over 21) and includes six tastes, snacks, and good cheer.
Maia is healing well and is looking forward to sharing a lovely Sunday with her adoring friends and supporters, wine lovers, and dog lovers.
If you cannot make the event, you can still contribute to the vet bills via Chip In. About half the money has been raised.
