Adopt me!

Tucson: holiday pet adoption special – PACC

When at Pima Animal Care Center, look for a snowman or santa sticker on kennel cards. These dogs and cats have been sponsored and the adopting family only needs to pay a small fee of $15. Such a holiday deal!

If you are not able to adopt but would like to assist with long term dogs finding their forever homes, consider making a small donation. Be sure to designate your donation as “sponsoring a pet/long term.”

PACC has a lot of dogs now. These dogs need to go for walks. Volunteers are needed to walk dogs in the a.m. Just show up and you will get some dog walking tips. If you are not physically able to walk dogs, you can throw balls and toys and take dogs out of the kennel and lavish them with attention giving them some human contact. PACC is a very stressful situation for the dogs so any one-to-one interaction they can get, is so well received. Plus it’s good exercise for you too.

Many people are on vacation or off work during the holidays. Conversely, many of the regular dog walkers go away for the holidays. Now would be the time to go walk a dog or dogs.

Please share this info with others.

A few weeks ago, I was trying to get a foster home for a 9 year old Ridgeback/Lab mix whose adopter died. A wonderful person by the name of Tina R. came to the rescue and Tucson Cold Wet Noses pulled Reagan and Tina is now fostering him. She already has four dogs.

Apparently, Reagan gets along well with her dogs, doesn’t bark, is housebroken, and is generally a very good and calm dog. He is also available for adoption.

I’m going to try to get animal charities to respond to you here. If you want to sponsor a horse — check out Equine Voices or HEART of Tucson. Both have sponsorship programs.

Thanks Karyn for getting the word out about PACC.  We desperately need walkers and fosters.  We have many wonderful dogs available at only the license fee.  We have some that are being treated for kennel cough and are available for only the $15.00 license fee and a trip to a vet to be sure kennel cough is gone, already “fixed”.   “:Adopt one until there are none”.
