World traveling Beagle rescued and traced to Japan
In search of owner
TUCSON- The Humane Society of Southern Arizona is trying to locate the owner of a dog who has a microchip registered in Japan. This week Stephen, a four year-old Beagle, was found near Speedway and Dodge by a good Samaritan.
A quick scan revealed a surprising result! The chip was implanted by the Okinawa Veterinary Treatment Facility in Okinawa, Japan. It is registered to a man last stationed on the Kadena Air Base in 2010.
Staff has scoured the internet, and even contacted Davis Monthan Air Force with no luck. “It is our hope that putting out information will reunite Stephen with his owner – especially given the circumstances,” says spokeswoman Lyndsay Bruno.
