yes, but Petsmart still discriminates against the Pit Bull breeds in their doggy day care and over-night boarding facilities.
when one calls the Petsmart corporate office in Phoenix to inquire as to the rational behind their ban... they claim there have been incidents with Pit Bulls and their employees. when asked to share documentation of these incidents, there has never been a response.

oddly, before I knew of this discrimination, I boarded my (then) 1 1/2 year old Pit Bull at the location in Tustin, CA and the employee who checked her in documented her as a Lab Mix. Upon picking up my dog, her doggy report card was straight A+'s and the staff all made it a point to come out and say good bye and hoped we would return.

coincidentally, Petsmart uses a Red Nose Pit Bull on their in-store promotional posters for their Doggy Hotel.

though a theory, I personally believe that Petsmart discriminated against the Pit Bull breeds based on pure monetary concerns: "If we allow a pit bull in our doggy day care or over night boarding, owners of other breeds with no longer PAY to board their dogs with us."

One has to LOVE corporate America and their "Thinking outside of the box is BAD" mentality.

I realize it's a very small thing, but using a black kid to advertise a pit bull neuter campaign that is funded by charity seems a bit culturally insensitive, given the negative stereotype of black people being poor and owning a lot of pit bulls.
