Tucson: Practically Perfect Pup Seeks Forever Home
by Karyn Zoldan on Aug. 21, 2012, under Adopt Me! Adopt Me! Adopt Me!, Dogs, Canines, Fun with Fido, Barking EncouragedIf you want a puppy who doesn’t bounce off the walls, you want Nutter Butter! She is a 1 year old Lab/Pit mix who is as mellow as puppies come. Butter weigh approximately 45 pounds and should be close to full grown now.
Butter is a total sweetheart of a dog. Everybody who meets her falls in love with her soulful eyes and calm demeanor. It’s likely that Butter had a rough life prior to being rescued by Tucson Cold Wet Noses, but she still adores people. She is one of those dogs who will put her head in your lap and just wait to be petted. Butter has met children at adoption events and has been great with them. She’s got a very people-oriented attitude. Butter likes to take her time in life — she is not much of a runner. She is gentle on a leash and prefers to hang out behind you instead of charging ahead.
Although she doesn’t have the energy of a puppy, Butter definitely likes to chew like one. Lots of toys are a must to keep her busy. She is 100% crate-trained, so she can chew on toys (like Kongs) in a crate while you are at work. Please don’t let her gentle personality make you think she doesn’t like to play, either. Butter loves to play with other dogs and gets pretty rough-and-tumble with them. She can definitely hold her own in a game of tug-of-war, keep-away, or wrestling.
Butter gets along well with other dogs her own size, but is selective about which smaller dogs she gets along with. We’re recommending that she go to a home where all dogs are over 30 pounds. She gravitates toward happy, male playmates, but gets along with females too. She would make the perfect companion for a single dog! Butter’s got a relatively high prey-drive, so she is not recommended for a home with small animals.
Nutter Butter is house-broken and crate-trained. She is also spayed, micro-chipped, and up-to-date on her shots. An adoption fee does apply. Cold Wet Noses would love to see Butter in a forever home by the end of the week, so that they can continue to save more lives!
If you are interested in meeting her, please contact Terri at 520-235-6309, and leave a message. She will call you back as soon as possible. You can also fill out an application online. (written by Michelle Lindorff)
