What is needed is a statewide ban on the practice, not just two municipalities. There is nothing at all preventing Dr. Joe Robinson, the track veterinarian, from taking Greyhounds anywhere else in Pima County, Santa Cruz County, or the State of Arizona and injecting them as much as he pleases.

A statewide ban on performing the procedure is needed as well as banning Greyhounds that have been so injected from competitive racing anywhere in the state. Horses that race are monitored to see what they may have in their system, as are Olympic athletes and also now many professional athletes must be tested. There is no reason(other than the associated costs) that blood analysis can't be done on all track racing dogs. Let the Greyhound track pay for it and pass the costs on to those paying customers who are so eager to see animals treated in such a cruel manner. Let the track customers pay for their own sick idea of entertainment.

We moved to Tucson in November, 2012. We love this community, we love the people, the activities, and of course, the climate; Tucson is a wonderful place to live. Greyhound racing is the one embarrassing activity to this town. Embarrassing, but also a great contradiction to the animal-loving people I have met here. How can we eliminate this disgusting form of "entertainment?"

Why oh why are us females always left out in sports? Human or animal, someone is always trying to control our reproductive system. I can take birth control an compete as a human ( for now cause there are groups who do not want me to be able to do that either) but if I were a dog some people want me to be never to be able to reproduce because they don't want to allow me birth control, just sterilation.... Hmmm ...where do we live?
