Pima Animal Care: chip in so dogs don’t have to sleep on cold concreteby Karyn Zoldan on Nov. 10, 2012, under Adopt Me! Adopt Me! Adopt Me!, Animal News, Dogs, Canines, Fun with Fido, Barking Encouraged
Kudos to PACC Partners and some compassionate volunteers from Tucson Electric Power who are working together to provide raised beds for the animals so they don’t have to sleep on the cold concrete at Pima Animal Care Center .
Don’t you just love the community altruism for Tucson pets?
So far they have constructed 40 beds but there are still 102 kennels that do not have anything at all for the dogs to sleep on. Some dogs–including senior dogs and entire families of dogs — wait months in empty PACC kennels before finding their forever homes.
If you can chip in to help raise some funds (no donation is too small) — anything and everything is gratefully appreciated.
You can read more about the efforts here and how to donate. Thank you
Also consider adopting a great dog – Captain
(Photo: Ahoy mates! Captain may be a senior (7 yrs old) but he still knows how to sail. He would sail right into the back seat of your car if given the chance. Captain was an owner surrender on 9/17. The family found him wandering the streets and took him home. While there he stayed for a while but weren’t supposed to have pets where they live so had to surrender him.
The owner release form said he lived indoors, was housebroken, slept on the couch or wherever he wanted. Captain listens well and minds his manners. He is a super nice dog and a gentle walker. He is on the rescue list due to age and being intact. Please share Captain with all you know with the hope that someone can sail on down to PACC and pick up this great boy. He sure would like to sleep on a nice comfy couch tonight instead of a hard cold floor. PACC ID 401853)
