June is National Adopt a Cat Month…helping Tucson cat rescues…One in 1,000 campaign
from the press release
PAWSitively CATS No-Kill Shelter, a 501(c) 3 organization, is extremely grateful to the Tucson community for donations last month when they experienced a severe financial shortfall. The response allowed PAWSitively CATS to meet their immediate needs for rent, utilities, supplies and medical care.
PAWSitively Cats relies significantly on donations to care for their nearly 300 cats to provide food, litter, veterinary care and operating funds to keep their shelter open. While significant one time gifts are greatly appreciated, the organization is hoping for continuous monthly gifts to support them on a monthly basis. This will allow the shelter a continuous stream of funds to meet their needs.
To promote monthly gifts, PAWSitively Cats began a “One in 1000″ campaign. The goal is to encourage regular monthly gifts of $10 or more on a continuous basis. These gifts can be made here. In addition, larger gifts can be made thru PayPal or by mail at PAWSitively CATS, P.O. Box 32115, Tucson, AZ 85751.
In addition to financial gifts, the shelter also needs donations of the following to keep the shelter going:
• Friskies Pate canned cat food
• Kirkland brand dry cat food from Costco’s
• scoopable litter
• laundry detergent and bleach
These items can be dropped off at PAWSitively Cats’ Adoption Center at 3432 E Fort Lowell Road. For questions or directions, contact the Executive Director, Sheryl Campbell, at 520-289-2747.
Hey cat lovers: If 100 people gave $10/month = $1,000/month — what a good start to sustainable donations.
On a lighter note, here’s a cat who is running for mayor in Xalapa, Mexico and all he promises to do is sleep and do nothing. Well, he’s probably more honest than most candidates.
