Tucson: Superman Dies 7/18 if Not Rescuedby Karyn Zoldan on Jul. 17, 2013, under Adopt Me! Adopt Me! Adopt Me!, Dogs, Canines, Fun with Fido, Barking Encouraged
Update: : Superman is saved. That’s all I know for now, if I learn more I will share here. Thank you to all who shared this blog post.
Extremely Urgent: Because of the overcrowding at PACC, 2 year old Superman (A442697), a 56-pound Dalmatian mix, will be euthanized on July 18, at 7 pm because there is no room in sickbay. He is suffering from upper respiratory illness (URI), which is perfectly treatable.
Please note the discrepancy, the photo says pit bull but the text says Dalmatian mix.
Paws crossed that someone can give this sweet boy a good home so he doesn’t die. He’s a volunteer favorite and was so scared and worried about all the things around him.
NOTE – Animals with “Rescue”, “Sick Bay” , or “Special Needs” listed by their names have special adoption needs. They are not necessarily “sick”, (other than those being treated in Sick Bay for upper respiratory infections.) PACC strives to adopt out as many animals as possible, but wants you to know about any special needs up front, especially if you have other pets at home.
Animals listed as “URGENT” are in danger of being euthanized within 24-48 hours if not adopted. To ADOPT a SPECIAL NEEDS (Rescue List) Animal: **Go to the rear of PACC (south side) and enter through the intake door. **Ask for JUSTIN (Animal Advocate at PACC) or RACHEL (Rescue Coordinator), or the Rescue Tech and let them know you want to do a Special Needs Adoption and give them the number of the animal you are interested in. **CALL JUSTIN AT 243-5929 or RACHEL, (Rescue coordinator) AT 243-5936 or 247-2888 for further information but do NOT depend on a MESSAGE to save an animal’s LIFE.
Do not call in to say you want a dog and then not show up!
For Thursday 07/18, PACC will NOT be taking in any new animals. The focus will be on the care, adoption, and rescue of the ones already here. Adoption hours will be as usual tomorrow from 12-7. Special fees! PLEASE COME ADOPT! For this moment only current volunteers are needed.
The Pima County Animal Care Advisory Board Meeting will be held Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. at the Administrative Offices at PACC. Everyone is welcome to attend and participate. PACC is located at 4000 N. Silverbell Road, Tucson
